Virens U-nails are essential for permanently fixing biofabrics and anti-erosion biomats to the ground.
Their function is not only to prevent the fabric from blowing away in the wind, but also to ensure perfect, pinpoint contact between the biotextile and the soil. If the biomat rises even a few millimeters, creating air pockets, the roots of the new lawn will dry out before they touch the ground.
Nails should be placed every 50 or 70 centimeters. If there are ridges, depressions, or unevenness, the spacing is reduced.
The nails should be driven at a slight angle, about 80 degrees, against the slope. This increases resistance to soil erosion.
The 17-centimeter length of the two vertical spikes is specifically designed to penetrate the soft surface soil and anchor itself into the more compact layer below. The 5-centimeter width distributes pressure across the fabric without tearing it.
Made of steel, they have a high structural rigidity that allows them to penetrate even very hard terrain.
